Summer Lunch Support: A Critical Call to Action
Summer is often seen as a time to relax—but for food banks, it’s one of the hardest seasons of the year. With schools closed, many children lose access to regular meals. Families face rising grocery bills. And as people head off on holidays, donations tend to slow down.
That’s why Surrey Food Bank launched the Summer Lunch Support campaign—to raise awareness about the urgent need for support during the summer months. Right now, they’re especially in need of nutritious food for children—items rich in protein, fresh fruits, and vegetables. These are the kinds of essentials that help ensure no child is left behind during a season when support tends to slow down, but the need remains just as real.
The truth is, hunger doesn’t take a vacation. And neither can we. Every day, more families are turning to Surrey Food Bank for help. And every day, they’re doing everything they can to meet that need. But they can’t do it alone.
